Jess Tice is an artist (and her paper pop-up skills are so crazy cool), who also happens to have beautiful taste in lingerie. A supporter of PLU since the start, her enthusiasm for pretty little everythings is such an inspiration and reminds me why I love writing about lingerie. So excited to share her wish list for a beautiful, relaxing holiday season! 1. Morgan Lane Orion Frankie Shirt
I hope this little number is under my tree this year! It's ever so versatile for work and play, dressed up or down.
I think everyone needs a ritual for the end of the day. Mine includes a cocktail and slipping into this luxurious Dead Sea mineral bath salt—nothing relaxes me quite like this. And I love supporting local businesses—Soap Cherié is in Brooklyn.
Dita hits all the right marks with her lingerie line. I love the color of this set in Parisienne Blue, and how it just oozes sex appeal. And now that I'm a grown up, I'll actually wear the set together.
This jasmine perfume is divine! The smell isn't overpowering and not too floral. It's the perfect mysterious scent. I have to admit that whenever I stop at ABC Carpet, I have to 'try' it on.
Esther's Note: I want to introduce you all to Jill, one of PLU's new team members and a writer at a luxury fashion & beauty company. Girl has brains, sass and impeccable taste—and a gift for punning on the fly. If any/all of that + her holiday wish list isn't enough to make you want to be her friend, then God help you. Enjoy reading her first post on PLU! xx 1. Stella McCartney Georgia Glowing Bodysuit
A little lace never hurt anybody, right? I’m a sucker for feminine details, especially when they’re balanced with bolder touches, like these striking, geometric panels. Layer this bodysuit under a dress, a cashmere sweater, basically anything you want… and boom, you’re in bombshell mode.
Refer back to part one about the lace. This chic grey set is just the right amount of playful, with deco adornments and touches of gold. The perfect way to upgrade the everyday.
Let’s do some math: this dress + a leather jacket + some rag & bone Newburys + a red lip = one serious party(sorry for the long equation, but it’s important to keep the mind sharp). The monochromatic palette makes this drop-waist style endlessly versatile, perfect for any time of year.
Call me a cliché, but seeing the golden Vera Wang gown that Michelle Williams wore to the ’06 Oscars is still one of my favorite red-carpet moments (you know you loved it, too). So if Kate Young, the celebrity stylist behind said red-carpet appearance, wants to release a book about iconic fashion moments in film and unforgettable eveningwear, I’ll certainly be reading that.
Ahh, time to relax. And what better way to relax than with a crazy-elegant trio of candles from Byredo? The black wax and black glass add instant ambiance, even before you strike a match. I think they’ll look great on my coffee table next to that Kate Young book…
Happy Thanksgiving Eve, y'all! I think November flew by too fast. I remember feeling like Thanksgiving was sooo far away and now, it's here. Well, it's here tomorrow. So while I'm cooking all day and night, here's my holiday wish list for this year because you really, really wanted to know... right?
If you're a regular reader (or follow me on Pinterest), you'll know how much I'm loving La Perla Studio for everyday lingerie. Love the pink accents on this otherwise neutral Anemone set, and I'm really loving how super-pretty this Clementina set looks. I have a pretty basic (not that kind of basic) everyday wardrobe, so I love the idea of knowing that I'm wearing lingerie that's this beautiful under a solid crewneck cashmere sweater. And let's be honest—of course there are more than two lingerie sets on my real wishlist, but these two are the ones I want right now. Like right now.
Sick.So sick. I've been obsessing over this coat for the past few years, and haven't had the guts to just go and buy it yet (hi hefty price tag). But I'm thinking that if this polar vortex is going to keep coming to hit NYC every winter, then I miiiight be able to justify it. But I'm not sure yet. Either way, I'm super excited that Acne Studios came out with an all-black one this year and in lambskin leather at that. I love the suede versions but I feel like the leather is safer, no?
I probably visit Vale's site at least 3-4 times a week and just repeatedly look at the same jewels over and over again. I went to their trunk show a couple of weeks ago and tried on almost every ring they have, as well as the Diamond Slice necklace and it was surprisingly gorgeous. So these three are topping my jewelry wishlist right now—all in rose gold, of course. (Also on my jewelry wishlist is a piece of Chanel Fine Jewelry that I'm just going to keep to myself for now...).
Glam it up for not a lot of bucks. Love the chunky, oversized shape of these sunglasses, especially in this iridescent shell tortoise. These are great for everyday sunnies, and the darker grey-ish palette makes them fab even in the winter.
You're probably noticing a pattern by now (black, textures, fleece/shearling). I'm a woman of simple, albeit expensive, tastes. At least I own up to it. Anyway, most of the time when it's freezing out, the heat turns on in my apartment to a degree that I can't control and I'm sitting here in a tank top and shorts sweating profusely. Then there are times when it is just as cold inside as it is outdoors, but the heat doesn't come on because the temperatures haven't dipped below 35. Those times are when I'd love this cozy-looking robe.
