The Late Bird Doesn't Get the Lingerie

Ugh, of course, these amazing Balmain pieces went on sale when I wasn't paying attention and and now they're sold out. Adding this one to my list of things I really missed out on. Damn.

Tempting Tuesdays: Marni, Oh Marni

Tuesdays will feature a lustworthy lingerie set and a suggested retailer. I think we all need a little something beautiful to at least look at to get us through the week. Hope you love them as much as I do!

Marni Stretch Silk-Satin Set

So I read yesterday that Marni is launching a kids line, which seemed to make some people mad. I honestly don't give two cares as long as lingerie like this gorgeous set keeps on comin'. I feel like emerald green undies are pretty rare, and I love how it's used as an accent color on this set rather than your usual pinks and purples. The retro style combined with the colorblocked design gives it a sporty feel, but these aren't your boyfriend's BVDs—thanks to the luxe stretchy, silky satin that you'll want next to your skin (and he might want to feel it too, so give him a hug).

J.Crew Finally Adds Lingerie!

I was digging around J.Crew's site the other week and noticed that there were some new "accessories" additions! Cosabella's special line for the prepster brand is just as sweet as their spring line. The chevron-lace is a J.Crew exclusive and comes in three colors, neon coral, blush peach, and black. I've always preferred Eberjey's classic lace pattern to Cosabella's, but I really adore this one.

I'm really excited about this because so many other RTW brands are collaborating on lingerie or introducing it in their online shops, and I feel like it took J.Crew a lot longer than I expected to hop on board. But better late than never, right? And hopefully soon they'll bring out "intimates" as it's own navigation item and not bury it under "accessories".

All Hail the A-Cups!

I really loved this article in the New York Times today: "For the A-Cup Crowd, Minimal Assets Are a Plus".
I have to admit that I laughed out loud when I read these paragraphs about soft bras:
"Exquisitely designed soft bras with no underwire appeal to this camp for gorgeous details and 'nipple discretion,' as it’s called in the industry, said Susannah Hornsby, an expert bra-fitter at Journelle, a boutique in New York.
In fact, soft bras have come such a long way from their training-bra lineage that Claire Chambers, the chief executive of Journelle, says her saleswomen, most of whom are 32D, regret that they cannot fit into all the crush-worthy fashion pieces from brands like The Lake & Stars. Really."
I suppose that now since lingerie has become a fashion statement, especially for the small-chested women, the beautiful bralettes and soft bras we can wear are seriously envy-worthy. Woohoo!
P.S. Congratulations to Brulee for the Vamp Collection Corset soft bra that was featured in the story!
