Summertime Lingerie Dressing, Part I

If you live on the East Coast, you've probably had some insanely cold and an insanely long winter. We've finally been experiencing some warm weather in NYC—thank goodness, finally now that it's June. I feel more secure now about searching for wardrobe inspiration to revamp my spring/summer style.

One of the chicest ladies in my office was wearing a beautiful black silk romper today. Or should I call it a jumpsuit? I like the word romper because it has shorts, but it sounds so un-chic to say a chic woman wore a romper to work. Nevertheless. The long sleeves make it work appropriate, but the lacy details à la ARI DEIN are what caught my eye. So imagine my surprise when she told me it was MAJE!

But really, the lace details soften an otherwise severe black romper; the long sleeves make it perfect for chilly offices while the shorts make this cool for lunch runs in the summer. And once fall comes again, just throw on a chunky cardigan or leather jacket over it and you can extend the shelf-life of this by another two months.

The Summer Playsuit Roundup / Sale Edition

One of the things I love about The Outnet is that they always have fabulous items on sale. Yes, sizing can be limited, but that's part of the fun—it's a shopping scavenger hunt. Only the clever emerge victorious. The online savvy are rewarded. You get the idea.

So when I was browsing through today and saw all these adorable playsuits, I knew I just had to dedicate a post around them. Because you know, it's still freaking 90 degrees out with 200% humidity and we still have to wear clothes, but would prefer to wear as few clothes as possible but still look cute and not trashy. Torchlight Romper by The Lake and Stars

If you've been reading my blog for a bit, then you know how much I adore The Lake and Stars. If you're new to Pretty Little Underthings, then you should know that I really, really love The Lake and Stars. They also pull double-duty designing a diffusion line for Urban Outfitters called Double in Brass which is pretty spectacular too.

So I suppose it's only fitting that my love for the line would make me want to spend all weekend running around in this sheer romper. I just love how the chevrons add a bit of complexity to an otherwise simple cut. The high-cut thighs are super flattering too.

Heatin Up: Eberjey Bettina Romper

My management company finally turned the heat on, and I have the windows open all the time now. It's sweltering in my apartment, leaving my desires for comfy robes to settle in the dust and moving onto cute little rompers like this one. I know that complaining about heat is extremely bratty, but it feels like a humid Manhattan summer day in here.

So yes, I wouldn't wear the hat with it while I skip around my apartment, but who wouldn't want a super-cute onesie like this made of super-fine jersey? Just be sure to wear an apron if you're cooking—oil splatters aren't sexy.

Okay, maybe not really but how gorgeous is this set? I love the scalloping—a detail we've seen in her ready-to-wear collection over the years. I first saw this in one of the fashion mags from this month (can't recall which one) and a bit of digging also found...

Weekend Playtime: The Luna Playsuit

Brand-new from Loulou Loves You, a playsuit to spend the weekend in. Isn't it so adorable? It has bloomer-style shorts and a halter neck, with a soft elastic at the waist. The peplum frills help add some movement to the fabric and it's all brought together beautifully with little bows at the waist and bust.
