All the Pretty Lacy Things

Thanks to Superstorm Sandy, I finally had some time to browse the interwebz for what's new and all the rage in lingerie. Haha, just kidding, lingerie doesn't rage... well, not the kind I seek out anyway. It's more of a classy affair, you know like, champagne and stuff.

Anyway, I was browsing through Lille Boutique's ever-beautiful site, and spotted these two amazing pieces. The lace detailing on the top is exquisite and it's potentially-scandalous sheerness is balanced by the higher-cut neckline. And those shorts? Don't even get me started—you know how I love a good pair of shorts. The black-on-black embroidery detail on these are scream "LOOK AT ME" but in the most delicate, artful way.

I hadn't heard much about Australian brand Shakuhachi (and creator of these beautiful pieces) until now, but I'll be keeping an eye out for more of their collection—especially if they're as amazing as these.

New Year Resolution: Back to Basics, Part I

image via

Happy new year, dear reader! So, confession: didn't really make resolutions this year. Didn't even try. Nope. I feel like I should though. Like, blog more often, win back my Foursquare mayorship of Journelle Union Square... I mean, I resolved to start using blotting papers on a daily basis. That's okay, right? I got these Bosica Peppermint Blotting Linens at Sephora and they were a great perk-me-up at 4pm.

But I digress. Not really a resolution, but I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to get back into briefs this year. They're comfy, even great for lounging around (if you're lucky enough to not have roommates), and they can come in really cute designs like this Huit pair from their Cupcake collection. I think briefs are often dismissed too quickly, and the possibility of feeling super-sexy while wearing them? 100%. Trust me.

Huit Cupcake Shorty, $36. Available at Lille Boutique.

Tempting Tuesdays: The Most Elegant Briefs in the World

Tuesdays will feature a lustworthy lingerie set and a suggested retailer. I think we all need a little something beautiful to at least look at to get us through the week. Hope you love them as much as I do!

I'm really excited about this week's Tempting Tuesdays post for a couple of reasons:

1. These Rituel by Carine Gilson briefs are bee-yoo-ti-ful. Sometimes I feel like briefs are damned to be eternally casual unless they have some sort of special feature, like a high-waisted design or bows. But then I see a pair like these and it erases my gloom & doom attitude towards briefs. Stretch silk and lace—how can you turn that down, especially in colors as pretty as this blush pink and burnt orange? And the color names are "Ambre" and "Sisal"! "Sisal"! I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, but it makes the pink pair sound even fancier.

2. I LOVE what the team over at Lille Boutique has done with their site. Super easy navigation, clean layout, the typography is tight, and the new product shots are to die for—just look at the two up top! I've never been there in person, but just looking at all the photos makes me feel like I know what it'd be like to visit. It's hands-down one of the best lingerie e-commerce sites I've seen. Congrats guys!
