Hump Day Pick: Silk-Chiffon Ruffles from Jenny Packham

image via net-a-porter.com

Don't lie to me—you love this too, don't you? I love the possibility of versatility with this jacket, read: just because it's called a "bed jacket" don't mean you gotta keep it in the bedroom. As long as you're not wearing heavy jewelry that'll snag it and ultimately make you sad, I think it's safe to say this would look amazing layered over jeans, a black bodysuit and riding boots.

But you know, this picture below totally sold me on keepin' it boudoir (I'm so going to trademark that) too:

Ugh, Jenny Packham—why must you torture me with your silk confections of amazingness? Hump day indeed.

Hump Day Pick: A Pre-Valentine's Tease

Mimi Holliday Frappe Lace and Silk-Satin Bra & Briefs
image via netaporter

I saw this set on at least the first four websites I browsed while looking for items to include in the gift guides I have coming up, and of course I couldn't resist posting this one on it's own. IT'S JUST SO PRETTTTYYYYYY. Y'all know I'm a sucker for Mimi Holliday's plunge bras, and the eyelash lace detail in this set is just to die for. Can you imagine that lace fanning out on your fanny? Bee-yoo-ti-ful. Make sure you do your hamstring exercises to tone and lift your bootay for these gorgeous undies.

Mimi Holliday Frappe Lace and Silk-Satin Plunge Bra, $90. Frappe Lace and Silk-Satin Briefs, $70. Available at Net-A-Porter.com.

Hump Day Pick: Pretty in (Padded) Purple

image via
'Ello, loves! Did ya miss me? I know there have been a lack of posts the past couple of weeks; I blame a horrific moving experience, my birthday, and the discomfort of not yet having a desk at home so my lovely Mac desktop is on the floor (which is where I lay as I type this now). But I'm baaaaack!

I went to the Journelle semi-annual sale yesterday after work, where I found this Mimi Holliday padded plunge bra (my favorite style, ya know) on saaaale! I love the deep purple color and how it's simple enough to wear as an everyday bra, yet pretty enough to want to wear it all the time.

Journelle mostly had smaller sizes, so if you need something slighter bigger, Underwear in Austin, Texas has a couple left in stock. AND they're offering 30% off all Mimi Holliday pieces through the end of July with the code "mimi0711"!

Mimi Holliday Pompier Padded Super Plunge Bra, $82. Pompier Classic Knicker, $75. Available at Underwear.

Hump Day Pick: Retro Beauty in Parfait by Affinitas

Full disclaimer before we start today's Hump Day Pick: this post is purely based on aesthetics, since Parfait by Affinitas only carries 30D-40G, and I clearly am not qualified to write about how it fits (let's be serious, I'm a 32A/B these days). I saw this back in February at RichPR's lingerie preview, and I was so, so sad that it didn't come in my size. I really love the contrast of the smooth contrast-y, peachy satin with the black trim—it puts accents in all the right places. And at just $57 for the set, it'll keep your money in the right place—your bank account.

Hump Day Pick: Superfine Swimwear by LOVER

I really LOVER-ed this bikini from the first moment I saw it on Creatures of Comfort's website (aka my virtual fashion wishlist). They made this same bikini with a different print last year, which I totally regretted not buying from Frances May when my size went on sale for $50, but j'adore this fun ikat print more!

I love how the accents are subtle—the white clasp, natural wood-color beads—to keep all eyes on the ikat print... oh yeah, and on you, you beach babe!

Hump Day Pick: Swept Asea Set by Samantha Chang

Hellooooo seafooooam! I saw this set in Anthropologie before I saw it on the site (which might be a first), and I immediately melted. It reminded me of this Only Hearts cami that I love (and wear all the time), so no wonder I was so drawn to it. And yes, I will admit that I have looked at it during the subsequent three trips I made to Anthro. Samantha Chang is a new line that Anthropologie picked up this season, and after seeing this set, I'm looking forward to seeing what other beautiful pieces are to come!

Swept Asea Cami, $88. Boyshorts, $48. Available at Anthropologie.com.

Hump Day Pick: An Icy Blue Ogiku Set by Lou

This week is all about the embroidered details, apparently. This sky blue set traces flower petals onto your skin, though the color makes me think of clouds. It's a departure from the brightly colored springtime sets I've been posting, but it's been chilly in NYC lately and it's supposedly snowing this week, so let's just go with the flow and look at lingerie that reminds me of glaciers (and polar bears, yay!).

Check out all the variations on this set on their site. There's an adorbs hipster bottom, and bridal white, slate grey and raspberry colorwaves too. No A-cup bras at Anthro, sadly, but you B+ ladies are in luck!

Ogiku bra, $118. Ogiku thong, $64. Available at Anthropologie.com.

Hump Day Pick: Citadel Pinstripe Chemise by The Lake and Stars

Photo via Barneys.com

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this Citadel Pinstripe chemise by The Lake and Stars is priceless. Just kidding, it retails for $225, but a classic black chemise like this with such subtle pinstripes and a not-so-subtle back is a wardrobe staple. Simply perfect to wear under spring's sheer dresses or tucked into neatly pressed wide-leg trousers, or if you're bold enough—by itself.

I'm dying for this one in black because then it'll be forever (or until the elastic hem dies, but lets be serious—I'd probably still wear it anyway), but the poppy-colored version with black trim is KILLER. Check it out. You'll see what I mean.

Hump Day Pick: Shadow Striped Set by Kiki de Montparnasse

Attention ladies: Kiki de Montparnasse wants you to be a zebra. A very stylish, sexy zebra. The end.

Just kidding! This gorgeous set immediately caught my eye thanks to the bold stripes against the sheer silk, and how the bottoms looked like they didn't have elastic around the legs, so they have a bit of a flutter. I love flutter.

And just as I thought, the stripes are fairly subtle against your skin (see more images on Net-A-Porter.com), so you won't have to worry about a Hamburglar effect. Or a zebra. Just flutter.

Shadow striped silk-chiffon triangle bra, $125. Briefs, $110. Available at Net-A-Porter.com.

Hump Day Pick: Cyan and Chantilly Set by Lavit + A Happy Birthday!

I have a confession to make: I almost didn't post today because I'm so, so exhausted. But I saw this set on Anthropologie's site and I couldn't come up with a good enough reason to NOT share it with you lovely readers!

I love that greenish-blue hue—someone once mentioned to me that you rarely see green lingerie that's not a hideous shade—but this is just so springlike and a gorgeous reminder of how this manic-depressive  winter will be over soon enough. Thank goodness.

But lastly, I want to dedicate this post to my dear sister, who turns 25 today! Although she thought my blog was too scandalous at first, I thought she'd like this one 'cos it's just too adorable not to like. Happy birthday seastar, I love you!

Cyan & Chantilly Bralette, $68. Boyshort, $48. Available at Anthropologie.

Hump Day Pick: Sweet Pieces for a Sweet Valentine's Day

In full recognition of the fact that not every woman feels 100% at ease in sexy, sultry lingerie, I wanted to dedicate a post to the women whose style is more of the sweet, beautiful category. These will still make you look and feel amazing, and that's what's most important!

1. Sugared Grapefruit Bodysuit by Eberjey
Sweet lace with hot pink details make this soft bodysuit an everyday piece—you won't want to only save it for special occasions anyway. I think it'd also look so pretty with a long tulle skirt for an outfit pairing.
Available at Anthropologie, $72.

2. Spree Camisole and Shortie by Elle Macpherson
I'll be honest, the lacy back of this camisole totally hooked me. I love how ordinary cotton becomes a bit fancier with the lace details and prettifies it into something extraordinary. Also comes in black!
Camisole, $87. Shorties, $40. Available at Shop-Underwear.com.

3. Folie Teddy by Mimi Holliday
Leopard print can be really intense, but not on this beautiful silk romper! The sheer silk, frilly detailing on the shorts, and the desaturated print makes this teddy just a baby step towards jungle animal, while keepin' it classy.
Available at Derrière de Soie, $140.

4. Icon Lace Bodysuit by La Perla
Oh, heyyy! This gorgeous bodysuit has black buttons all down the back (you need to see it) and a nude mesh panel in the front. Wear it under your special Valentine's Day outfit, or with high-waisted bottoms to make it your special outfit!
Available at Net-a-Porter.com, $570.

Hump Day Pick: Valentine's Day Sale Edition

If you're a regular reader, you know that Pretty Little Underthings is obsessed with Journelle. Amazing selections, chocolates & Evian in the dressing rooms, and sweet Journellettes like Mara and Valerie totally make my day. And then there's the semi-annual sale. The incredible sale that makes lingerie dreams come true, which also happens to be going on now.

So I decided to dedicate this week's Hump Day post to three amazing sale picks that are perfect for Valentine's Day—whether you have a honey or not.

1. Fleur of England Cupped Babydoll
I'm a sucker for eyelash lace and silk that feels so smooth against the skin. The classic pattern is a glamourous alternative to modern-day babydolls and the black-and-white movie glory days when cigarettes where everywhere (but don't smoke, your lingerie will smell!), romance was mandatory, and women always wore lipstick.

Cupped Babydoll, on sale $175 (regularly $350)

2. Andres Sarda Pollock Night Dress

Stunning! It's like Marilyn Monroe meets the Black Swan and dialed down the transparency by 75%. This is a chemise to twirl and swirl in, to feel like a princess in, to love in.

Pollock Night Dress, on sale $180 (regularly $600)

3. Damaris Amoretta Bodysuit
I had to include one for the ladies who aren't the chemise type. I posted a Mimi Holliday version of this bodysuit in black as a Tempting Tuesdays post a few months ago, and this one is more hottie-hot than bisou-bisou sweet, especially in this fiery-red (almost orange) color. If you really want to spice things up, wear it under your date outfit, and watch him go up in flames as you peel off your layers.

Amoretta Bodysuit, on sale $195 (regularly $390)

Hump Day Pick: Fête de Coquine Set by Mimi Holliday

I adore this Fête de Coquine Silk Satin Bra & Lace Thong by Mimi Holliday. The cuts are classic Mimi styles, and the silk and lace details area just right, per usual. The bright raspberry red makes me smile and warms up an otherwise chilly Wednesday. Did ya see the little velvet bows on the bra, too?

Hump Day Pick: Mimi Holliday Bisou Bisou Rose Set

Mimi Holliday has become a dangerous, dangerous obsession of mine, and the ladies at Journelle know just how to pick 'em to keep me coming back for Mimi.

My favorite Journelle Mara showed me this bra last month before it went on sale, and I knew it was automatically going on my wishlist. And then I saw the bottoms. And the suspenders. As Rachel Zoe says, "I die."

I'm too scared to go back into Journelle for the sake of my bank account, but Santa—if you're listening—I'd really, like this for Christmas. If you're on Twitter, I can DM you my sizes. Thanks dude.

Bra, $90. Boyshort, $74. Suspenders, $58. Available at Journelle.com.

Hump Day Pick: Thousand Dancers Silk Habotai Nadia Digital Print Set

It's FREEZING in NYC right now. Literally. Wind gusts have it feeling like 25°, and even though I'm a snowboarder and love the cold, I don't love it THIS cold! So it's only fitting that today's Hump Day Pick is this amazing underwire bra and briefs set from Thousand Dancers. The colors are so amazing and the print overlaid on top is beautiful. It makes me feel like I'd be wearing summertime on my body. I'd like that, please. Marni, this is my plea to you— please bring more styles to the USA!

Underwire bra, $120 AUD. Briefs, $36 AUD. Available online at ThousandDancers.com.

Hump Day Pick: 3.1 Phillip Lim Floral Printed Soft Bralette & Cheeky Pant

Um, hello gorgeous! I love 3.1 Phillip Lim ready-to-wear, but his lingerie collection is an absolute favorite of mine. I adore the style of this bralette and it's always produced every season in different colors and prints. When I saw this one, I may have almost started whimpering in my head because it's so darn pretty. I love especially love how you don't notice that the print is washed out/reversed until you see a peek of the inside of the bottoms and how vivid the florals are! Future hubbie, take note.

Soft bralette, $115. Cheeky bottoms, $115. Available at Barneys New York.

Hump Day Pick: La Baker Set by Hanky Panky

Who knew that Hanky Panky, creators and purveyors of the world's most perfect thong, could get this cute? Floral lace sweetens up naughty neutral-colored mesh, and the black trim gives the set strong outline on your body if your skintone matches up. (But really, who other than cartoon characters can call that color "nude"?)

La Baker bra, $58. Bottoms, $40. Available online at Anthropologie.com.

Hump Day Pick: Knickers by Hopeless Lingerie

I first posted about Hopeless Lingerie last month when I saw their adorable camis, and I haven't been able to get their fabulous high-waisted knickers out of my head. I was browsing through their online store again today, and I spotted these incredible Linda Modal Jersey Knickers.

I think they're the perfect follow-up to the Maison Close set I posted yesterday. These knickers are naughty AND nice, whereas the Maison Close is just plain naughty. The Linda knickers are a sweet pale pink and made of a soft jersey, but the elastics running along the sides make these bottoms stand out from any other undies you've seen.

Linda Modal Jersey Knickers, $125. Available online at Hopeless Lingerie.
*Note: these are made to order by hand in Australia, so allow 1-6 weeks if you're planning on gifting them!

Hump Day Pick: Minuit Silk-Chiffon Playsuit by Mimi Holliday

A playful poem for a playful playsuit!

Sweet polka dots in black and white,
It's not too loose, and not too tight,
If you wake up with your hair messy,
This silk number'll make you feel sexy.

Hump Day Pick: Croatia Gown by Jenna Leigh Lingerie

Bring a hint of springtime into your fall/winter to cheer yourself up from this cold weather! Jenna Leigh's fall collection is slowly rolling out, and this nightgown immediately caught my eye. I'm not a nightgown type of gal, but for this watercolor-inspired silk number, I definitely could be.

Nightgown, $250. Available at Jenna Leigh Lingerie.
