A Belated-Everything Wishlist

Hello! Bonjour! It's been awhile. I haven't forgotten about PLU, I've just been busy and unfortunately my blog has gotten the short end of the stick. Fortunately, my birthday recently passed and I thought it'd be fun to post a lil' (belated) birthday wishlist because I've been seeing some reeeallly lovely pieces and I can't wait to post them individually. Also because these are all things I wanted for my birthday, I just never told anyone.

1. Dolce & Gabbana Floral-print Bodysuit

An artful floral slash nautical print with bold strokes in a stretch-silk blend fabric. I love Dolce & Gabbana's bodysuits for their loud prints and classic bombshell silhouettes. This would be perfect with jeans and a leather jacket.  $1,245. Available at net-a-porter.com.

2. Mimi Holliday Mojito Set
Y'all know how much I love Mimi Holliday; so much that my birthday wishlist probably would seem like a forgery if I didn't include a Mimi on here! I loved this almost-fluorescent-but-not-quite-because-it's-classier colour the most of the spring/summer colorways, and had to resist the temptation to buy it when I tried it on a few weeks ago. Pair it with a tan (SPF kids!) and a real mojito for summertime cool. Or just hang it up in your room and stare at it.  Bra, $82. Boyshorts, $76. Available at Journelle.com.

3. ARI DEIN Boutique Hotel Demi Gown
In strawberry ice, please! This is lady in the front, and lady-of-the-night in the back. Okay, well she'd have to be a really classy lady of the night. Who isn't really a lady of the night. I mean, at least it's a classy way to show off some side boob and the toned back you've been working on in pilates class. And it's gorgeous, handmade and 100% made in my favorite city, NYC.  $295, available at Journelle.com.

Say Hi to Thursday: You Fun, Fancy, Flirty Fleur't, You

Say Hi to Thursday, a special day of the week when there's only one more work day before a glorious weekend awaits. Pretty Little Underthings will showcase a weekend-perfect piece we'd love to wear.

Fleur't Simone Sheer Chemise

I don't post chemises all that often (well, not ones like this at least) mostly because 1. they're not really my style, 2. I rarely wear dresses anymore, so why would I wear one in the bedroom, and 3. I feel like these are usually styled to look like what the heroine of a Danielle Steel novel would wear. Full disclosure: I have never read a Danielle Steele novel, though I was a huge Mary Higgins Clark fan in middle school. Don't tell my mom.

But this one by Fleur't caught my eye for a few reasons. I love that it looks more expensive than the $98 price point, and I also love that it's all black—even the lace trim—and has great potential to be styled as a going out outfit, with the proper foundations of course. If anyone tries this, let me know!

Fleur't Simone Sheer Chemise, $98. Available at Shop-Underwear.com.

You Know You Want One More Giveaway...

Hi guys!!! How was your week? Good? Bad? I'm going to make it better. Underwear in Austin, TX wants one of you to have an awesome piece of lingerie from their fabulously curated boutique. I've yet to visit the store in person, but they have a fantastic e-commerce site with tons of gorgeous lingerie and loungewear. The tough part of shopping online sometimes is that smaller sizes are usually gone first, but Underwear always seems to have the pieces I want in my size.

Sooo guess what they're offering up for this really rad giveaway?!
Yeap, that's right—The Lake and Stars Citadel Pinstripe chemise! I gushed about this in March and then finally splurged on it when Journelle had an amazing 30% off sale, aaaand it is definitely one of the best pieces I've had for this summer. I wear it as a top with skirts and shorts and pants and jeans... you get the point. I just roll up the bottom to tuck it into high-waisted shorts since there's a pretty sturdy wide elastic at the bottom. I can't wait to come up with new outfits with it for fall and winter, but honestly, it's pretty freakin' awesome on it's own too.

Aaanyway, Elizabeth at Underwear loves Pretty Little Underthings (you lucky ducks!) and is offering a chemise to one lucky reader! Just follow the instructions below to enter, and I'll announce the winner over on Facebook on Friday, August 19th

Mandatories to enter the giveaway:
1. Like Pretty Little Underthings on Facebook
2. Like Underwear on Facebook
3. Leave a comment with your email address (otherwise I won't be able to contact you)

And extra entries for:
4. Follow me on Twitter @e5thelove—leave your Twitter handle in your comment too!
5. Follow Underwear on Twitter @shopunderwear

The giveaway will close on Friday, August 19th at 12pm EST. Good luck! xoxo

Hump Day Pick: Citadel Pinstripe Chemise by The Lake and Stars

Photo via Barneys.com

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this Citadel Pinstripe chemise by The Lake and Stars is priceless. Just kidding, it retails for $225, but a classic black chemise like this with such subtle pinstripes and a not-so-subtle back is a wardrobe staple. Simply perfect to wear under spring's sheer dresses or tucked into neatly pressed wide-leg trousers, or if you're bold enough—by itself.

I'm dying for this one in black because then it'll be forever (or until the elastic hem dies, but lets be serious—I'd probably still wear it anyway), but the poppy-colored version with black trim is KILLER. Check it out. You'll see what I mean.

Say Hi to Thursday: La Fee Verte Silk Chiffon Chemise

Say Hi to Thursday, a special day of the week when there's only one more work day before a glorious weekend awaits. Pretty Little Underthings will showcase a weekend-perfect piece we'd love to wear.

Silk Chiffon Chemise by La Fee Verte
Loungewear that doesn't look like loungewear! I love this chemise for looking like a luxurious tunic top that I would wear out with leggings & boots. A belt could look cute, though I wouldn't want to damage the fabric and I prefer a free-flowing, free-spirited look. Add a pair of statement earrings and I'll wear this to your party!

Silk-chiffon chemise, $200. Available at Silkybottom.

Tempting Tuesdays: Moon Landing Chemise by The Lake and Stars

Tuesdays will feature a lustworthy lingerie set and a suggested retailer. I think we all need a little something beautiful to at least look at to get us through the week. Hope you love them as much as I do!

Moon Landing Silk Chiffon Chemise by The Lake and Stars
This chemise by The Lake and Stars has 1. sparkles, 2. a super-sexy cut-out bodice, and 3. their signature hook & eye closure that's supportive enough for the ladies who need it. I saw this on different boutique's sites, but I finally saw it in person at Journelle SoHo and spent more time ooh-ing and aah-ing over it than was probably appropriate. Go try it on. Did I already mention it has sparkles?

Moon Landing Chemise, $195. Available at Journelle.com.

Hump Day Pick: Zinke Dear Eleanora Chemise

This sweet little Zinke chemise was on guest blogger Allison Beale's holiday wishlist this year, and I couldn't help but drool over it too. From the front it looks so classic, but once I saw the back, my jaw just dropped. I love how it's so unassumingly sexy, yet so fun with a bra clasp and such a dramatic plunge back. I generally gravitate towards brightly colored lingerie, but Zinke proves that black definitely isn't boring with this amazing piece.

Dear Eleanora Chemise, $158. Available at Shop Forty Winks.
