Tempting Tuesdays: The Most Elegant Briefs in the World

I'm really excited about this week's Tempting Tuesdays post for a couple of reasons:

1. These Rituel by Carine Gilson briefs are bee-yoo-ti-ful. Sometimes I feel like briefs are damned to be eternally casual unless they have some sort of special feature, like a high-waisted design or bows. But then I see a pair like these and it erases my gloom & doom attitude towards briefs. Stretch silk and lace—how can you turn that down, especially in colors as pretty as this blush pink and burnt orange? And the color names are "Ambre" and "Sisal"! "Sisal"! I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, but it makes the pink pair sound even fancier.

2. I LOVE what the team over at Lille Boutique has done with their site. Super easy navigation, clean layout, the typography is tight, and the new product shots are to die for—just look at the two up top! I've never been there in person, but just looking at all the photos makes me feel like I know what it'd be like to visit. It's hands-down one of the best lingerie e-commerce sites I've seen. Congrats guys!

Carine Gilson Thème Egérie Silk Crepe de Chine Set

My big sister from my sorority came up to visit a couple months ago and we spent a gorgeous day brunching and shopping. She's been purchasing very ladylike clothing lately, pieces with delicate details and sometimes ruffles. She kept saying, "I want to be lovely." I laughed every time she said it (and I think she said it at least 20 times).

But if you really think about it, it's possible to draw differences between something you'd describe as "cute", "pretty", and "lovely". I think most of the pieces I post are "cute" or "pretty" (occasionally "gorgeous!"), but this Carine Gilson set is definitely lovely.

Blush-pink silk and such delicate lace that seems to gently enswathe your body? Yes, please! This is definitely a classic set for special occasions, and one you'll keep for years.

Guest Blogger Wishlist: Layla L'obatti's Top Five Picks!

I got to meet Layla L'obatti, founder and designer of Between the Sheets Lingerie and Specimens of Seduction last month when she generously offered to sponsor a BTS giveaway here on Pretty Little Underthings (the first!). She & her boyfriend Josh are both so sweet so I asked Layla what her wishlist picks were (Josh, hint hint).

Here are my personal holiday picks:

1. The Lake and Stars Business Model Bralette

If there is any one thing I'd love to wear to enhance my own pieces (from Between the Sheets Collection) I'd want a signature Lake and Stars bralette, and this Business Model silhouette from this season would be perfect paired with our Playdate Babydoll in black! 

2. Eucalan Lingerie Wash

I am wishing for a little kick in the underpants, so I would love some Eucalan wash in my stockings—I love their eucalyptus, grapefruit, and lavender scents.

3. Lascivious Ana Bodysuit

I have lusted for this piece since I very first saw it, from one designer to a very haute brand—I love Lascivious's Ana Bodysuit, the color, the lace, the cut, the fit... it's just drop dead gorgeous glam.

4. Carine Gilson Frou-Frou Silk-Chiffon Kimono

Another lingerie designer crush, I want to sell to Net-A-Porter a la Carine Gilson, and I want to wear this stunning chiffon kimono with lace applique! When I "make it" this will be my gift to myself.

5. Bottega Louie Macarons

After our recent trip to LA we visited the most amazing gem that I wish I had brought back more of! Bottega Louie has the most amazing macarons I've tasted (they happen to have also been my first at the recommendation of both Alison at Faire Frou Frou and another good friend in LA!) and I am dying to taste their salted caramel and all the deliciousness that we brought home and finished shortly after. So santa baby, slip a little something sweet under the tree, for me, I've been an awful good girl!!
