Pure Poetry

I present to you all: a set of haikus by Erica Paik for the prettiest long line bra this fall — Clo Intimo's Kali Underwire Bustier (and charming matching boy shorts)!

How often does lingerie move you to poetry? And agreed—adore the tiny star details. A pretty change from the ubiquitous bow or crystal charm, but still chic and low-key.

Longline set ever

Wear that deserves to be

Fits like the bra I

A Twist on the Bustier

Or should I say, quite a few twists and pulls on the bustier! I came across this the other day and I just stared at it in awe for awhile. Leather makes it super edgy, but the frills and asymmetrical peplum give it a ladylike vibe. You can dress this one up to make it appropriate for a black-tie affair, yet dress it down for a night out with the girls. And bring on more outfit ideas after the jump!

The Bra-Short Suit. Yes, Suit.

I haven't posted an editorial recently and so when I was flipping through this Vogue US editorial in the new May 2012 issue, I had to fight the urge to post it immediately. Like, I started looking for iPad apps so I could post it immediately and then had to control myself because let's face it: I was sitting in my doctor's waiting room and was going to be interrupted anyway.

But y'all know how much I love beautiful long-line bras and shorts (well, this is more apparently on Polyvore and Tumblr... and my own personal wardrobe during the summer months), so this amazeballs editorial was slightly mind-blowing for me. They're like bra-short SUITS! SUITS! And while they may not be exaaaactly work-appropriate, a girl can dream. These three were my absolute faves. Enjoy!

Dear Santa (Part I)

An Open Letter to Santa Claus

Hi Santa! This Stella McCartney Madeline Celebrating set is beautiful, isn't it? It's at the top of my Christmas wishlist. The name is perfect—I want to celebrate the holidays while wearing the Madeline Celebrating set! I love the long line and the gorgeous paneling details, and let's not get started on the mesh sides.

You can pick it up at Journelle (btdubs, I'm the mayor of the Union Square store, holla) and I'll leave you some delicious milk & cookies. Like, homemade cookies. Not that pre-made Nestle Tollhouse garbage.

Thanks! Love, me.

Tempting Tuesdays: Stella McCartney, You Can Do No Wrong

Tuesdays will feature a lustworthy lingerie set and a suggested retailer. I think we all need a little something beautiful to at least look at to get us through the week. Hope you love them as much as I do!

The Journelle team sent lingeristas in a tizzy last week when they sent out an email featuring this set. Okay fine, I just really mean me and Allison of George PR (I'm sure there are more, I just don't know them). But how could you not think "I WANT THIS ON MY BODY NOW"?

Anyhow, that's all I've got. Really. I mean, this Stella McCartney set is so freakin' gorgeous, anything else I'd say would just be an insult. Just bask in its glowing beauty. Bask. And wish it was yours.

Tempting Tuesdays: Celebrating with a Vintagey Set from The Lake and Stars

Tuesdays will feature a lustworthy lingerie set and a suggested retailer. I think we all need a little something beautiful to at least look at to get us through the week. Hope you love them as much as I do!

Wave Lace Bustier Bra and High-Waisted Briefs by The Lake and Stars
I haven't done a Tempting Tuesdays post in awhile, so I thought it was only appropriate that the comeback post would be dedicated to my first lingerie love, The Lake and Stars. I picked up this set for myself Memorial Day weekend as a "yay, new job!" gift to myself (I'm single, I'm allowed to reward myself for lots of reasons), and a surprise 20% off at Azaleas NYC didn't hurt either.

This set can seem a bit intimidating in photos, but it really has an incredibly gorgeous delicate quality as well. I'm definitely filing the bottoms under "power bitch briefs" (and I'll even make a new tag for that), but the hook-and-eye closure in the back makes 'em hottie-hot-hot. I love that they took their Grand Prix briefs and added the lace panel in front. The architectural feel of the lines in the briefs give the illusion that they're sculpting around your body—without the Spanx effect.

The long-line bustier bra is a dream come true for innerwear-as-outerwear connoisseurs. Even before I bought this, when I first saw it on Azaleas' site, I was already thinking of ways I could wear it and incorporate it into everyday outfits. Let's be serious—it's WAY too gorgeous to hide from the world. I tried it on at home with a black maxi skirt that I wear high-waisted, and it ended up looking like an amazing dress. Throw on a sheer-ish white linen button-down (well, maybe not these days because it's like, 80 and humid in NYC and I'd rather not wear clothes but for common decency I have to), shorts, and your favorite flat sandals for a casual summer evening look! I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one, that's for sure.

Wave lace bustier bra, $165. Available at Azaleas NYC and Net-A-Porter.com.
Wave lace high-waisted briefs, $60. Available at Azaleas NYC and Net-A-Porter.com.

Bustier Mini-Bonanza!

I love a good long line bra, or a bustier, especially ones you can wear out. And now that the weather is getting chillier (well, this week at least) they're so cute under cardigans and jackets. Some great ones I've found:
1. Caged Corset Top by TopShop$65.
2. Rose Zip Jersey Bralet by Topshop, $44.
3. Disco Dropout Bralet by Zinke, $68.

4. Black Label Legend Bustier by La Perla, $402.
(How amazing is this La Perla one, by the way? A one-shoulder bustier? Genius!)

A Sustainable Bustier?

I know, I did a double take when I read it too, but Bodkin, one of my favorite fashion labels, is known for using fabrics that keep the environment in mind. This beautiful bustier's fabric is made up of hemp, organic cotton and some Lycra for stretch. This one in particular could transition beautifully even as outerwear into the fall and save it for next summer too!
