The Late Bird Doesn't Get the Lingerie

Ugh, of course, these amazing Balmain pieces went on sale when I wasn't paying attention and and now they're sold out. Adding this one to my list of things I really missed out on. Damn.

Let's Discuss: The Greatness of Granny Panties

Guys, I just want to take a moment to discuss the most un-loved of all lingerie, the granny panty. I know we look down on these because they're not considered sexy, but let's discuss the benefits for a moment, k?

1. They're widely available in cotton, which means supreme breathability for your ladyparts.
2. Cotton means you won't have to suffer through a day of itchy lace.
3. Neutrals are in! Tans, browns, beiges, whites—they come in all shades of neutrals, which means they're (kind of) in style!
4. If your jeans are too low, these babies are sure to help you avoid showing off your plumber's crack.
5. Most importantly... Happy April Fools Day.

Normal coverage of sexy lingerie to come soon.

New Year Resolution: Back to Basics, Part I

image via

Happy new year, dear reader! So, confession: didn't really make resolutions this year. Didn't even try. Nope. I feel like I should though. Like, blog more often, win back my Foursquare mayorship of Journelle Union Square... I mean, I resolved to start using blotting papers on a daily basis. That's okay, right? I got these Bosica Peppermint Blotting Linens at Sephora and they were a great perk-me-up at 4pm.

But I digress. Not really a resolution, but I think I'm going to make a concerted effort to get back into briefs this year. They're comfy, even great for lounging around (if you're lucky enough to not have roommates), and they can come in really cute designs like this Huit pair from their Cupcake collection. I think briefs are often dismissed too quickly, and the possibility of feeling super-sexy while wearing them? 100%. Trust me.

Huit Cupcake Shorty, $36. Available at Lille Boutique.

Tempting Tuesdays: The Most Elegant Briefs in the World

Tuesdays will feature a lustworthy lingerie set and a suggested retailer. I think we all need a little something beautiful to at least look at to get us through the week. Hope you love them as much as I do!

I'm really excited about this week's Tempting Tuesdays post for a couple of reasons:

1. These Rituel by Carine Gilson briefs are bee-yoo-ti-ful. Sometimes I feel like briefs are damned to be eternally casual unless they have some sort of special feature, like a high-waisted design or bows. But then I see a pair like these and it erases my gloom & doom attitude towards briefs. Stretch silk and lace—how can you turn that down, especially in colors as pretty as this blush pink and burnt orange? And the color names are "Ambre" and "Sisal"! "Sisal"! I don't even know what that's supposed to mean, but it makes the pink pair sound even fancier.

2. I LOVE what the team over at Lille Boutique has done with their site. Super easy navigation, clean layout, the typography is tight, and the new product shots are to die for—just look at the two up top! I've never been there in person, but just looking at all the photos makes me feel like I know what it'd be like to visit. It's hands-down one of the best lingerie e-commerce sites I've seen. Congrats guys!

Bra-Spotting at Madewell

Here's what I learned this weekend:
1. Madewell has some really friggin cute sweaters that I'd like for Christmas (Santa, I hope you're reading this).
2. Madewell has some really adorable mesh polka-dot bras by Honeydew Intimates. I didn't know they were carrying intimates in the stores (just goes to show how often I shop in stores now—not often enough).
3. You will get yelled at for taking photos in Madewell because apparently you're not allowed to. Bummer.

Regardless, I have to show you how cute these bras were! The mint green one was my favorite, and the nude one is nice too. But the mint one is my favorite, and unfortunately is not listed on the website currently. The back strap is elastic with three hooks for extra comfort. Hooray!

Apparently there are also really cute matching briefs

You Got Mail—Panty Mail!

George PR's beautiful Allison sent me an amazing package the other week. I was hoping for a naked candygram, but this was even better. Two pairs of gorgeous adjustable lace undies from CLO intimo, in beautiful colors that are perfect for the fall.

What I love about these is that they come in standard S, M & L sizes, but because you can adjust the side straps, you can keep them from digging into your hips like other panties might. The briefs have an elastic trim, but they won't dig into your bum and give you VPL like briefs usually would. That's what makes these undies magical. I wore these with a pair of my tightest skinny jeans—and like magic—no VPL! With briefs! Amazing!

I'm hooked. I want more. I need more. It's time for me to throw out a bunch of my undies anyway, and it's pretty obvious what their replacements will be: magical underwear by CLO.

CLO intimo Fortuna String Bikini, $32. Available online at CLOstudio.com.
