The Scoop on Black Friday...

Happy Thanksgiving, my dears! I'm a little delirious from prepping cooking + putting together this one-stop shopping post for the best Black Friday sales, but I'm looking forward to sleeping in a little, drinking the bottle of Sancerre I found today, and eating my heart out at dinner.

So I'm not a big fan of stores being open on Thanksgiving day, but a lot of online retailers are starting their Black Friday promos today and hey, that doesn't hurt anyone (or too many people…). And you can shop on your phone under the table while your crazy aunt or uncle is going on and on at dinner. Here's a roundup of some lingerie sales (and sales on sites that sell lingerie… and also some of my favorite clothes in general), and a few choice items from each. There are some great Cyber Monday deals a-comin' too, so check back Monday morning to see what those are.

Let's start with my favorite one. No promo per se, but all profits from sales today will go towards their factory fund in China. The monies will go towards updating recreational facilities for the 300-some people who live and work there. Super generous, and even though I just placed an order for a new supply of Ryan tees and tanks, I may have to order a few more. Why not when it's going to something this great? I don't mind having two of each of these muscle tanks—they go with everything and look great with everything.

One of my favorite online shops; their rare coupon code tempts me too much to make my lust list items a reality. Love these cotton basics from Baserange, and that Isabel Marant bodysuit?? It's everything. In any case, they're offering an additional 30% off all sale items with code PREBFD30 until 11:59PM EST on 11/27.
40% off almost everything, through 11.30! Love these pieces in particular. I still have my eye on that one-piece…

30% off for Black Friday with code TGIBF, valid from 11/27 8PM EST - 11.30 8PM EST. They have a huge selection of lingerie and jammies, and y'all need to see these unicorn pjs. UNICORNS.

Up to 60% off, free wash + free ground shipping with code SPARKLE, valid from 11/28-12/01. Check out these selections too, from their Holiday collection.

Get an extra 40% off all sale stuffs with code BLACKFRIDAYEA, valid through 11/27. The Cyber Monday promo starts on 11/28, so check back early and I'll update this post with that info. You can find up to four different styles of the hit Australian brand For Love & Lemons here! Here's two styles I love:
(left) Vanity Lace Bra, $95 / (right) She's A Knockout Bra, $121

They've got a bit of a little tiered system going with code PRETTYFRIDAY. If you spend $100, you get 10% back; spend $200, get 15% back, spend $300 and get 20% back. 11/27 - 11/30. These are my favorite styles from their Lilli Tru collection—perfect bridal shower gifts, but also perfect for the woman who just effin loves white.

Another tiered promotion, with code GOBIG14. 15% off $250, 20% off $500, 25% off $1000. Valid through 12/01.

Additional 25% off all sale online, through end of day 11.28. Love these two bralettes:
(left) Out From Under Clip-Front Triangle Bra, $16 / (right) Eberjey Mabel Retro Bra, $51

Happy shopping and of course, have the most wonderful, fantastic, tummy-filling Thanksgiving! xx

2014 Holiday Wish List

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, y'all! I think November flew by too fast. I remember feeling like Thanksgiving was sooo far away and now, it's here. Well,  it's here tomorrow. So while I'm cooking all day and night, here's my holiday wish list for this year because you really, really wanted to know... right?

1. Two lingerie sets, one from La Perla Studio and one from L'Agent by Agent Provocateur
If you're a regular reader (or follow me on Pinterest), you'll know how much I'm loving La Perla Studio for everyday lingerie. Love the pink accents on this otherwise neutral Anemone set, and I'm really loving how super-pretty this Clementina set looks. I have a pretty basic (not that kind of basic) everyday wardrobe, so I love the idea of knowing that I'm wearing lingerie that's this beautiful under a solid crewneck cashmere sweater. And let's be honest—of course there are more than two lingerie sets on my real wishlist, but these two are the ones I want right now. Like right now.

2. This sick Acne Studios Velocite Shearling Jacket in Black
Sick. So sick. I've been obsessing over this coat for the past few years, and haven't had the guts to just go and buy it yet (hi hefty price tag). But I'm thinking that if this polar vortex is going to keep coming to hit NYC every winter, then I miiiight be able to justify it. But I'm not sure yet. Either way, I'm super excited that Acne Studios came out with an all-black one this year and in lambskin leather at that. I love the suede versions but I feel like the leather is safer, no?

3. Delicate jewels from my favorite Vale Jewelry
I probably visit Vale's site at least 3-4 times a week and just repeatedly look at the same jewels over and over again. I went to their trunk show a couple of weeks ago and tried on almost every ring they have, as well as the Diamond Slice necklace and it was surprisingly gorgeous. So these three are topping my jewelry wishlist right now—all in rose gold, of course. (Also on my jewelry wishlist is a piece of Chanel Fine Jewelry that I'm just going to keep to myself for now...).

Glam it up for not a lot of bucks. Love the chunky, oversized shape of these sunglasses, especially in this iridescent shell tortoise. These are great for everyday sunnies, and the darker grey-ish palette makes them fab even in the winter.

You're probably noticing a pattern by now (black, textures, fleece/shearling). I'm a woman of simple, albeit expensive, tastes. At least I own up to it. Anyway, most of the time when it's freezing out, the heat turns on in my apartment to a degree that I can't control and I'm sitting here in a tank top and shorts sweating profusely. Then there are times when it is just as cold inside as it is outdoors, but the heat doesn't come on because the temperatures haven't dipped below 35. Those times are when I'd love this cozy-looking robe.

Shop my wish list:

1. (pink & white) La Perla Studio Anemone Underwire Triangle Bra, $124. La Perla Studio Anemone Briefs, $44. (purple floral) L'Agent by Agent Provocateur Clementina Non-Padded Plunge Bra, $74. L'Agent Clementina Mini Briefs, $44.

2. Acne Studios Velocite Shearling Jacket, $2800.

3. Vale Jewelry selection: Galaxy Diamond Ring, $1550. Large Diamond Slice Necklace, $695. Short Corset Ring with Diamonds, $495.

4. Warby Parker 'Banks' Sunglasses, $95.

5. Skin Lamby Fleece Robe, $198.

A Very Merry Aerie Holiday

A few of you may remember that Aerie sent me their Holiday collection two years ago for a special post (and if you've been reading PLU that long and we don't personally know each other, then bless your heart and a million thanks for sticking with me!). They threw their holiday blogger party at their SoHo location last week, and I went to check out the funtivities with Jill (sidebar: Jill's a new PLU writer you'll be meeting soon!).

As expected: super cute, so festive and the prices were right. Nearly everything (panties excluded) was buy one, get one 50% off, making all the loungewear and pajamas perfect candidates for gifting. There was a hot chocolate bar, complete with marshmallows and peppermint to make 'em pretty, plus crafty blogger I Spy DIY to help everyone bedazzle their beanies. And of course, Aerie stylist and fitter Jenny Altman was there to help the ladies who had never been fitted before.

So let's take a second to talk about this awesome tote that'll be part of their Black Friday promotions: it. is. huge. Like, great for a weekend away or a beach trip huge. Perfect to haul home all my Christmas gifts for my family huge. So if you're brave enough to go shopping on Black Friday, be sure to stop by Aerie to get yours. The fabulous goodies that the event team included for us are so adorable—look for another blog post soon about those (yes, they warrant another post).

A few Aerie Vintage Lace Cheekies - 7 for $27. So many cute colours!

Ski pants, no pants? Ski-kend worthy loungewear (as long as you have a roaring fire, I guess).

Just a little VSCO-ing, but no retouching!

His and hers holiday!

Hot chocolate bar & sweets.

Saying yes! to the PJ cookies.

Big thanks to the Aerie team for the fabulous evening! xx

Balances & Paradoxes

Let's go light this Wednesday. Mostly since it's the middle of a crawling week, and I think we could all use a little pick-me-up, right?

Case in point: Agent Provocateur's Yoshie set. The floral embroidery on this sheer set could make it super-feminine, but brushes of black balance out the blush, and there's a hint of badass-ery (I'm sure someone on my team will be so disappointed in me for using that word) from the black criss-cross in front and back. This, my friends, is thoughtful, functional and balanced design. I'm not one for too many frills, but that small element of the black X is what drew me to this one.

Happy Hump Day xx

[Sponsored] The New Basics, True Originals

Maybe I'm just feeling spoiled by the four-day work week I had last week, but it's only Wednesday and I'm already thinking of how I can make my weekend revolve around cozy, comfy loungewear instead of dressing up to go out. Maybe it's because the weather has finally taken a turn for true fall. Lucky for me, the fab team at True&Co. let me choose a bunch of things from their own True Originals collections to try out for myself.

Y'all know I love a good bralette and I've been gravitating towards softcup/underwire bras lately, so obviously those were going to be a few of my choices. But of course, my love for softcup bras doesn't exactly mix with my love for white t-shirts, so I picked out a padded contour bra, and the coup de grace: JERSEY LOUNGE PANTS. WITH POCKETS. YESSSSSS. From their two True Originals  lines, the majority of the products I chose were from Uniform by True&Co., and I picked one pretty black bra (of course in black, but with the prettiest cutout details that keeps it from being just another black bra) from their more romantic collection, She Walks in Beauty (+Light).

I love the soft grey and pink shades — they're just feminine enough without teetering over into prissy. I've always liked the idea of grey lingerie. Not heather grey, but like a soft elephant grey with warm tints. This bralette and softcup underwire get just there.

And the grey jersey pants: they're purrrfect, buttery-soft jersey. I don't think I'll be able to get away wearing them to work, but worn with an oversized sweater (make sure to cover your bum) and some sick combat-like boots, I think it could work for a Saturday brunch. Maybe that's what I'll try this weekend.
